with funding from the Office of Behavioral Health, the Aurora Mental Health Center has created the Aurora Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition (ASAP).
ASAP's goal is to use community, state and national data to better understand youth substance
use in Aurora and to implement strategies to reduce youth substance use in our community.
Specifically, our areas of focus are:
Underage use of marijuana and alcohol in youth ages 12 - 20
Prescription drugs misuse among youth 12 - 25 in Aurora
The Aim of ASAP
Through collaboration with community partners, parents and youth we will implement community wide strategies to reduce the use of these three substances, as well as related consequences.

Reduce and prevent youth substance use in Aurora.

Binge drinking is less common in Aurora than in Arapahoe County
or the rest of Colorado.
