Aurora Mental Health Center with funding from Office of Behavioral Health has created a community coalition called ASAP (Aurora Substance Abuse Prevention).
ASAP's goal is to use community, state and national data to better understand youth substance use in Aurora and how we can help the young people in our community. Specifically, our areas of focus are:
- Underage use of marijuana and alcohol in youth ages 12-20
- Prescription drugs misuse among youth 12-25 in Aurora
The aim of ASAP
Through collaboration with community partners, parents and youth that we will create a plan to implement a community wide prevention plan targeting these three substances.
Youth empowered to reach their full potential and lead a life free of substance abuse.
Reduce and prevent youth substance use in Aurora.
